Meet The Thomas Team Our priorities have always been to give our clients superior service. From first time home buyers to seasoned pro’s to some of Evanston's finest builders, our client base is as diverse as the properties we represent. We have experience in the condo, coop, townhouse, single family home, and new construction markets. Although we have sold homes as far north as Highland Park and as far west as Wheaton, we specialize in Evanston and Wilmette. We also assist our clients who are moving out of the area by introducing them to the top agents in other communities around the country. Commitment We make a significant investment in the properties we sell. Before putting a home on the market, we work with sellers to optimize the presentation of their home, identify their target market, develop a strategic marketing plan and analytically assess market value. We personally supervise the preparation of all marketing materials including brochure research and copy-writing, floor plan preparation and virtual tour photography. Once listed, we offer a comprehensive mix of high-quality print and web based advertising venues, and clients stay informed as we deliver feedback from prospective buyers after each showing. The results? The combination of our market knowledge and commitment to our clients placed Michael into the President’s Elite, Coldwell Bankers Top 2%. And, with annual sales among the top 10 Agents in Evanston (of more than 500 licensed agents) for 2005, 2006 and 2007 we are prepared to help our clients have a successful 2008! Team Structure We have a terrific assistant, Eva, who shares our enthusiasm and professionalism. With her help, we are better able to maximize our skills and focus on what we do best – marketing strategy, client care and negotiation. While Eva schedules showings, contributes to marketing designs, and ensures targeted advertising, we work the field showing properties, consulting with buyers, hosting open houses, overseeing inspections, assisting at closings, and much more. Background Lene has a business degree and formerly worked for Philips Electronics where she was a Project Manager in logistics and marketing. Prior to Michael’s career in real estate, he graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison. Before combining forces in real estate, we started two successful businesses, The Unicorn Café in 1991 and Casteel Coffee (a wholesale & retail coffee roasting company) in 1993, both of which continue to add flavor to Evanston’s community. Speaking of community, we are blessed with two daughters – Cecilia and Josephine as well as several other family members who live in Evanston and Chicago. Some sales information, such as the selling price, the financing terms, and the transaction dates, is public information. Your real estate agent will have record of all recent sales. You can find out how properties have been appreciating, based on actual sales, rather than from the neighbors (they could be wrong!). Driving by comparable homes can give you an idea about how they compare with the property you are considering. Your real estate agent may have seen these homes and can give you additional information to help you make a decision.
